My "Lost Boys of Sudan" collage shows the pain and suffering of the Sudanese refugees whom have been forced to migrate to a different places. While creating my collage I incorporated the concepts of the 'SLR's' (School wide Learning Results) - here - Is a in depth explanation of how I incorporated them.
Think Creatively!
In my collage, i have used somewhat many creative elements to attempt to get my point across but i believe that one pops out and demonstrates this the best, which would be my six word memoir. I believe this has a major impact on the viewer but also draws their attention due to the bright colors. Also I think through symbolism it creates a deeper meaning due to the ripples and ripped paper you think of their long and tiresome journey, but also the destruction they have faced in their past live. The red paper both symbolizes blood and hope, symbolizing both death and pain, but also the rejuvenation of their lives into a new culture and into a new country. The metallic words stand out presenting my six word memoir about their lives, silver the color of metal because they have been enclosed for most of their lives, and this symbolizes barbed wire, something that kept them enclosed and something that is always a threat to anyone around it, something that could endanger anyone not only the "Lost Boys of Sudan".

Reason Critically!
To get my point across to others I used words and pictures that spoke out to me hoping that they would speak out to others as well. These pictures i have chosen such of war and devastation show the shocking realism in the everyday lifestyle of the lost boys. Most of my pictures have a deeper meaning that i wanted to get across, but also a meaning that the audience/viewer has to interpret on their own, these pictures are maybe of hope, starvation, or something that will shatter the ice and have a greater impact upon yourself. All these photos and phrases in the end sum up what the "Journey of The Lost Boys of Sudan" was to me.
Communicate Effectively!
While creating my collage i made sure i had photos that would create awareness in the viewer of the conflicts in the "Lost Boys of Sudan"'s lives. Most of my photos create a urge to help due to the sights of starvation, death, this is how I wanted to show the viewer of the "Lost Boys of Sudan"'s past. Also by putting phrases such as war, devastation and love, people have the urge to get a greater impact to strong words thus enhancing both, how strong my poster is but also, enhancing the urge for you to go out and help these people, raising awareness and also hopefully make you take action.
Live Ethically!
While looking at my collage i want the viewer to follow the path and see but also feel the journey of the lost boys, feel the love, devastation, change and hatred, but most of all empathy for others, most of all the lost boys. By creating the collage with words and pictures i want the viewer to know this is not a joke this is real and there are people suffering out these and we need to help. By having pictures of death and starvation i want the viewer to feel sad, but also happy that some of these boys have had the chance to get an education and graduate, and continue on with their lives, not enclosed but free. The viewer of my collage will hopefully experience a thrill, sadness and many other different emotions when looking at my collage, at the end giving them the feeling of riding a roller coaster.
